At THE CROSSING, we believe in living out the Great Commission by actively engaging in Missional Community. With a firm commitment to spreading the love and message of Jesus beyond our church walls, our Missions Team plays a vital role in fulfilling this mission.

In 2024, we are dedicating a significant portion of our budget—$206,600, constituting 15.5%—to missions. This financial commitment reflects our deep-seated belief in the transformative power of sharing the good news of Jesus both globally and locally.

Our Missions Team operates under a clear mission statement: "Missions at THE CROSSING exists to bless individuals or organizations “glocally” [globally and locally], outside THE CROSSING, with the goal of sharing the good news of Jesus." This mission guides our efforts as we seek to make a positive impact on communities near and far.

Inspired by Acts 1:8, which outlines the geographical scope of the disciples' witness—from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth—we have organized our missions initiatives into three categories: local, regional, and global. By strategically dividing our focus, we aim to reach individuals and communities at every level, from our immediate surroundings to the farthest corners of the globe.

Whether we're serving our neighbors in the local community, partnering with organizations across the region, or supporting missions efforts worldwide, our goal remains the same: to be witnesses of Jesus Christ and agents of His love, grace, and transformation.

OUR MISSIONARIES, CHRIS AND EMILY VICKIO

Chris and Emily Vickio, members of our church family, are preparing to get settled in their new home and ministry in Breme, Italy. For the past 12 years they have served in Morogoro, Tanzania in East Africa with Pioneer Bible Translators. They have worked alongside a team to translate the Word of God into languages that have never had the Bible in their mother tongue.
While in Tanzania, Chris was an IT specialist. He kept the equipment needed for translation up and running. Emily started out as the homeschool teacher for all of the missionary kids but then switched her role to the Member Care Facilitator. She provides counseling and encouragement for families on the field. They will continue many of the same roles in Italy but on a larger scale.
As a church family we can support them by praying for their transition and even sending them an encouraging note.
